The Third Distribution in the Perspective of the New Social Class: Basic Perceptions, Motivations
and Influencing Factors LU Haiyan ZHOU Jun 69
【 Abstract】The current academic circle mainly focuses on the theoretical interpretation of the concept and rela
tive policies of the third distribution and lacks empirical research on the key participants of it———the new social
class. Through the analysis of grounded theory, it reveals that the new social class mainly understands the third
distribution from three categories: basic cognition, participation motivation and influence factors. Basic cognition
involves the main object,core characteristics,participants,participation intermediary and participation ways;
participation motivation includes egoism,altruism,sociality and normative purposes;influence factors include
publicity,government management, policy, intermediary organization and participation support, which could be
included into government factors and intermediary organization factors. These three categories could drive the re
alization of the new social class’ s participation in the third distribution by working together.
